Yes you can add your own templates and styles for ESPC Legal to pre-populate with the correct information. However, only Administrators are able to update these templates as they are available to the whole firm.
For training on how to add your own templates please contact ESPC to arrange a session. Use the steps below as an aide memoire.
Remember you need access to the Configuration page, access via the toolbar on the left of the screen. In the ‘Document Styles’ widget there is a button at the bottom which asks you to ‘Click here to add a new style’. You can then add a pre-made template to your ESPC Legal style bank.
- Add a Style name. This is the name that will appear on the drop-down list of letter/document styles when you are in a case
- Select a ‘Template’ – when creating a letter you generally select the ‘headed paper’ template that you ‘superimpose’ your style text on to (these are uploaded into the Document Templates widget). If you wish to upload a legal document just select Blank Letterhead
- Input the body of the text into the ‘Default Content’ section with placeholders for any info that is to be pulled from Altis
- Select whether this is a letter or a document
- Select whether the document would be created on a selling transaction or on a purchasing transaction, or both
It is also worth noting that rather than linking to a template in the Document Templates widget and adding text into the Default Content section, you can upload a letter as you would expect it to appear with placeholders in the appropriate locations of the letter.
Remember, documents, letters and templates need to be uploaded in .docx format.
